We are a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit registered with the Internal Revenue Service and the State of Massachusetts as Care-for-Rare America Inc.  Our EIN is 84-1825399.

Care-for-Rare America does not unlawfully discriminate internally (in its administrative and program operations) or externally (in provision of services) on the basis of race, political orientation, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, national origin, ethnicity, ancestry, marital status, veteran status, or mental or physical disability or any other status prohibited by applicable law.

We respect and value your privacy

We will never sell, share, exchange, or otherwise disclose any personally identifiable data about our site visitors, donors, and/or newsletter subscribers.

Data collection

We collect individually identifiable data from visitors to our website only via forms where a visitor directly inputs their data, for example, when making a donation, completing our Contact Us form, or signing up to receive our newsletter.  All data shared with us via forms is secured through our database, hosted by Blackbaud.  You may request to have your information removed at any time by sending an email to information@care-for-rare.org.

How long we retain your data

All data that a visitor shares with us via form entries is retained indefinitely unless otherwise requested, by sending an email to information@care-for-rare.org.

What rights you have over your data

If you have made a donation, completed our Contact Us form, or signed up for our newsletter, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we have stored.  You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you.  This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
